Specialist in the neglected operatic composers of the nineteenth century and their world, with a background in the visual arts and clinical psychology, Alexander Weatherson has held academic appointments in London, Cardiff. and Leeds.   

He is a member of the Commissione dell’Edizione Nazionale delle opere di Gaetano Donizetti, of the Edizione Critica Ricordi and is a Socio-Corrispondente of the Ateneo di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti of Bergamo.

Author of many papers and publications upon the Melodramma Romantico he is Editor and Chairman of the Donizetti Society based in London.  

Alexander Weatherson studied at the Royal Academy Schools in London and the Courtauld Institute of London University.
